We live in a globalized world that requires global education. Students today - whether they are in a Minnesota classroom or learning in Tanzania - need to be taught 21st century competencies in order to be prepared for the world they are about to inherit. This includes communication skills, problem solving and critical thinking skills, collaboration skills, and digital and media literacy.
Beyond that, it is also essential as parents and educators to help students become globally competent, internationally minded and interculturally literate. As our world expands so does it shrink. People and jobs are on the move and we need tomorrow's movers to be ready. Today.
